This home was built for function, comfort, and just a bit of modern style. The farmhouse style that is popular was put into play here in increments with a ton of white shiplap walls and wood and blue accents.
The day bed has two twin mattresses stacked on top of each other that easily pull down to create one big king-sized bed when ready for bedtime. Below the daybed are storage drawers turning it into a multi-purpose bed.
Another angle shows the space between the bed and windows. You could put more chairs here, but with the bed pulling out to create a king-sized bed, it’s better leaving this space empty.
This is a one-room home that has a bathroom at the end. The 20′ storage container is perfect for creating a studio-style home. The bedding and sleeping space on one end, the bathroom on the opposite, and a small kitchenette in the middle make it welcoming and just what you need for day-to-day life.
They have added a ton of storage here with cabinets above the bed, below the kitchen counter, and even a few shelves floating on the walls.
I like the addition of the shelf underneath the window. It’s perfect for an at-home work space or a small breakfast nook!
The kitchenette may not be large but it has what you need with a small refrigerator and a 2-burner cooktop. Propane power makes it easy to prepare meals on the go. And with this being off-grid, the smaller kitchen is ideal for limited access to water, etc.
The bathroom has a barn door closure that is a great way to see the farmhouse style at play with function and style at the same time. The bathroom is small but has a unique charm with the corrugated metal wall surrounding the shower. Plus there is a small white sink that is slimline to not take up much space. And, a composting toilet is a bonus that fits into the off-grid needs perfectly.
It may seem small, but this home really does have everything you need. It’s a great custom build that can take you anywhere for a comfortable minimalist life that isn’t too rustic but still follows the style of keeping things tiny.
