Love tiny houses with whimsical designs? Then you probably are familiar with the architecture of Zyl Vardos, who has become one of the most well-known tiny house designers out there. Previously, we’ve featured a couple of fanciful tiny houses designed by Zyl Vardos, the Fuchsia, and the Moon Dragon. Now I want to share the newest: the Damselfly House.
The 24′ x 10′ is a quaint little abode ideal for one or two people. It could be used as a fulltime living space, but would also make for a great guest house or vacation rental. Let’s see what it’s like inside.
Here is a photo of the main living area. What really grabs my attention here is the ceiling. You saw the curved roof from outside, but I bet you didn’t expect the ceiling to also be curved, did you? It gives the entire space an organic feel.
The offset build of the roof is aesthetically pleasing, but it also makes it easy to maintain.
There is plenty of space in here for comfortable furnishings.
The spacious kitchen features natural slate countertops with a metallic edge. The double basin sink and backsplash are both copper and feature a dark bronze finish.
As you can see, practically the entire wall above the kitchen sink is comprised of windows, offering you a great view as you are preparing meals and washing dishes.
Other features in the kitchen include a 2-door fridge and freezer with 9 cubic feet of space, a 80” tall pantry, and a 2-burner 1800w induction cooktop.
The bathroom is small but well-appointed, with a subway tile floor, two opening windows, a mirror medicine cabinet, a fiberglass shower, and a porcelain flush toilet.
The shower includes a detachable hand-sprayer.
The bedroom you see above is actually located on the main level behind a partition for privacy.
There is however also a loft. The loft has room for a twin-size bed, and features recessed lighting and shaped windows. The stairs include drawers to boost the amount of storage space you have available.
The house includes all the appliances you need for comfortable living. There is a 40” HD TV on a pivoting wall mount, a 20 gallon electric water heater, a ceiling fan with a light, a 1500w electric convective heater, and more. You also have the option of installing a mini-split air conditioning system.
Stepping back outside, you can appreciate the beautiful design work which has gone into the whimsical door. The entire exterior of the home is made of cedar. All of the wood windows were handcrafted and include operable screens.
If you dream of having a Damselfly House of your own, Zyl Vardos will build one for you for approximating $99,500 (the price may vary a bit depending on the features you select). You can learn more about the Damselfly House and view even more photos by visiting Zyl Vardos here. Be
