La Tiny House builders have a love for vintage Airstreams and so they decided to design and build a tiny house based on the iconic trailer. The compact tiny house sits on a custom trailer and weighs under 8,000 making it easy to transport. The house has a kitchen, bathroom, and a loft bedroom all contained in a trailer that resembles an Airstream with its curved roof.
The builders kept the exterior mostly wood with just a little bit of the traditional metal from its inspiration.
Inside, the main level is mostly used for the kitchen and dining. The long dining area is made up of a wooden counter with a raw edge to show off the natural beauty of the wood. A small seating area is between the dining area and the sliding French doors leading out to the deck.
The kitchen has a stainless steel sink and two-burner stove as well as a mini-fridge built into the simple wood cabinets. The large window over the sink can be popped open to let fresh air in while you’re cooking.
The bathroom has a small RV toilet and a simple sink bowl as well as a small shower stall.
The compact spiral staircase also has a raw edge to show off the wood. The space-saving design doesn’t take up more floor space but is easier to climb up than a ladder.
In the loft, a platform is built-in for a large mattress under the windows. Even with a large bed, you still have plenty of room for storage.
We love the Tiny Stream and think the builders did a great job at paying homage to the iconic Airstream.
