The tiny house trend is really cool because saving money and space seems to liberate peoples’ imaginations. They come in many different styles. A lot of tiny homes do tend to keep things looking natural, however, and you see a lot of sedate colors as a result (a lot of natural wood). This tiny house on the other hand … well, the colors are anything but sedate.
The house is called Ravenlore, and it measures 176 square feet and weighs 13,500 pounds. As you can see, this is a home on wheels, and it belongs to Nicki Jo Davis of Savannah, GA. The home was designed and built by a company called Tiny Green Cabins.
“When I saw the design with the gingerbread trim, I knew it had to be purple, pink, blue and green,” Nicki Jo said. “I love that it’s completely ridiculous. It makes me really happy.”
Personally, I think those colors are gorgeous! I never would have imagined they would work together, but they actually complement each other very nicely. Yes, it’s a little ridiculous, but in a good way. It’s like a child’s playhouse on a full scale.
Now let’s head to the interior! The colors in here are a whole lot calmer. The wood has been left with the natural finish, so the ambiance is completely different than you probably expected. Here you can see the main living area. The chairs provide a nice contrast to the wood. You can see the beautiful kitchen, the stairs leading up to the loft, and the natural light provided by the large glass doors.
Curious about the loft? Here’s a photo of the bedroom. I loft the placement and shape of that window.
Here is a stained glass raven by Lynn Love.
And here is another closer shot of the kitchen, offering a different angle and a feel for the warm interior lighting.
Here you can see the shower stall.
Don’t they look happy in their beautiful tiny house? As well they should!
