Do you dream about living in a rustic tiny house? If so, you will fall head over heels with this beauty submitted to our site by Kevin Smith.
The house measures 20 feet in length and is constructed on a B-Wise trailer.
That rough-hewn siding is known as “live edge siding.” The natural edges of the wood have been preserved for a naturalistic look.
Let’s step through that beautiful front door and look around inside.
The lovely wood continues through the interior, providing the space with a rich warmth. A set of steps leads up to a small loft, under which is the kitchen and laundry area. To the left is a full-size fridge.
Actually, that loft is much bigger than it appeared from below! Between the indoor lighting and the windows, the space is very well lit.
The kitchen is very small, but there is a surprising amount of counter space to work with. Along with a propane 3-burner stove and oven, there is a beautiful hammered copper sink. The exposed beams overhead give the kitchen a very homey vibe. Here you can also get a better look at the washer/dryer unit.
In this shot, I want to draw your attention to the live edge countertops, as well as the rough trim around the windows. These details echo the live edge siding on the exterior, and help to keep an organic look and feel throughout the interior space.
The toilet is a self-composting unit.
The roomy shower includes a couple of shelves at different levels. Water is supplied from a 26-gallon fresh water tank. The water heater can provide hot water instantly on demand.
This is a view looking back from the kitchen toward the front door.
There is plenty of wide open space here in the foyer which you could use in any way you liked.
The home includes two 30-gallon tanks for propane storage. Other features include a 12-volt power inverter and RV-style electrical hookup.
Kevin Smith writes, “I guarantee you that if you pull into a campground, everyone will be looking at your trailer and not you looking at others!”
I couldn’t agree more.
