Recently I was featuring some tiny houses with a 20’ length, and thought I would go hunting for some which are even tinier. Today I ran across a gem called the Ascot, designed by the Tiny House Building Company. This house is 18’ long, offering only 167 square feet of interior space. You might not think you could reside comfortably in such a small dwelling, but you’d be wrong.
The outside of the house is simple and modest with gray siding and a blue door. The white trim around the door and windows helps to draw emphasis to them, providing some ornamentation for an otherwise simplistic exterior.
Wow, right? You didn’t think you were going to see space like this inside such a small home, did you? I certainly am blown away. This house actually looks roomier than some others I have seen with a higher square footage!
Aside from the ample amount of space, what really grabs attention in this photo are the colors you see throughout the home: white, brown, gold and the same deep blue featured on the front door. It looks fabulous on the cabinets! Revealing my nerdiness, I will say that I love that it is a very TARDIS blue.
The copper sink is also spectacular! While copper has become a popular material in tiny houses, you rarely come across an entire sink in copper.
The stripes on the curtains and the checkered blue and white elements in the cubbies play well off of one another. The colors are interspersed together in a very balanced way.
The steps feature some patterning in the back, giving them a somewhat ornamental effect. They look like they almost fade into the wall, leading nowhere, before abruptly taking a turn to head up to the loft.
You wanted a closer look at that copper sink, didn’t you? Well, here it is. This photo also shows off the large fridge and freezer, the microwave above (which you can just glimpse), and the laundry unit.
While the loft has a low ceiling, it does boast quite a bit of floor space, which is excellent.
There is a handy bar to grab onto while you are climbing up the steps. This is great for safety and simple ease of movement.
The bathroom sink is the same blue color found throughout the tiny house. The shower looks roomy and accommodating!
The relatively small vanity means more space around the toilet.
