On the border of England and Wales is a delightful little market town known as Hay-on-Wye. Famous for its quaint rural scenery, its beautiful old buildings, and its open-air bookstore, Hay-on-Wye has a secret—the most amazing tiny getaway you can imagine. Only here can you stay in a converted Panoramic Bus called “The Majestic Bus!”
The Majestic Bus is situated in open hill country, surrounded by rolling fields, flowers, and shade trees.
Here are some of the views which you can look forward to while you are staying in the bus:
The Majestic Bus features a cozy, homey interior with soft, cheerful colors which mimic those of the surrounding countryside. The wooden floor and countertops, painted pine boarding, and hand-built furnishings have a rustic, rural vibe.
For warmth, there is a wood-burning stove situated on an old flagstone.
The kitchen includes a gas cooker and fridge. There is plenty of shelving for cookware and dry goods.
It is all the little accents which make the Majestic bus so charming. Look how the textures and colors of the surfaces and décor all work together to create a beautiful whole.
Doesn’t this look like the most relaxing way ever to spend an afternoon in the country?
While I’ve already shared some shots of the kitchen, I can’t help sharing another one:
The focus here is on the delightful bright blue tea kettle. But this photo also does a great job showing how the muted but cheerful colors complement one another as well as the foliage seen through the windows. This is a different way of bringing the outside world in.
The wreath at the front of the bus is a singular design accent which again encompasses those lovely hues.
Another view to fall in love with:
The gardens just outside the bus are simply gorgeous. Looks like a great spot to enjoy a quiet picnic lunch.
There is a decked area located out there with two levels, including an open-air fire pit. If needed, a couple of tents can be pitched on the platforms to expand the sleeping space available at the site.
There is a bath house nearby which includes a flush toilet and roll-top tub with shower. There is a wood-burner stove located in the bath house as well to ensure that it stays cozy on chilly nights.
All guests who stay in the Majestic Bus can enjoy fresh-cut flowers from the garden inside the bus along with towels, quilts, and bed linens for up to four guests. Milk, coffee, tea ,and sugar will be provided along with condiments and toiletries. Some wood for the stove is provided free of charge as well, with the option to purchase more if needed.
As of the time of this writing, it costs £90 – £145 for a party of two to stay in the Majestic Bus. Interested in booking? Visit the official website here, and enjoy the charms of the Radnorshire Hills in tiny house comfort and style!
