GO-Cottage offers a couple of cozy accommodations in the Lake Placid area in New York. One is a 1,000 square-foot two-bedroom cottage, and the other is a 400 square-foot tiny “studio” cottage which shares a similar design. While the 400-square foot cottage is great for singles or couples, the larger cottage is better for families or groups.
You can check out the larger cottage in a separate post. In this one, we’ll be focusing on the studio cottage.
The façade of the studio cottage looks very similar to the two-bedroom cottage, but under half the size. Describing it, the owners write, “This cottage is nestled off the road about 100 yards, in a fenced in yard and is in the perfect location; Just a 1 minute drive or 10-15 minute walk to Main St. and all the attractions. Perfect for 1 or 2 people, honeymooners, small families and athletes.”
You can stay in this tiny cottage on or off-season (off-season is the best way to minimize the cost).
The roomy bedroom features a California King sized bed which is heated to stay cozy during the winter. There’s just enough room for one or two people.
If you stay during the summer, the overhead fan can help you stay cool. No air-conditioning is available.
The tiny cottage also includes this kitchenette with a mini fridge and microwave as well as an oven. There also are a coffee maker, a toaster and a blender for your convenience. If you want to cook outside, a charcoal grill and fire pit are waiting for you.
It is worthwhile to take the opportunity to cook during your stay, even if you are only booking a couple of nights. It will show you what it is like to make food in a tiny kitchen.
In the bathroom are the expected toilet and shower. Towels, linens, a blow dryer and an iron all are provided among the amenities.
If you choose to visit when it is warm and pleasant outside, you can relax on these lounge chairs in the yard. With the fence around the property, you can look forward to privacy. You will have a view of the mountains to enjoy.
During your stay, you can take advantage of free wireless internet as well as access to HBO Showtime. Spectrum Cable TV is available as well to watch on the Philips flat screen.
You are located close to ski and snowboarding areas and golf courses.
At the same time, the convenience of your location doesn’t reduce the seclusion that you get to enjoy. The solitude and tranquility of your lodgings is a far cry from the crowds you’ll find in mainstream resorts.
Even with its privacy, it only takes one minute to drive to Main Street. If you prefer, you can get there on foot in 10 to 15 minutes (convenient when it is snowing).
The area is most well known for its ski courses …
But you will find plenty to do in the summertime as well.
This is not just another bed you rest in overnight. It is a dazzling experience! Superhost Gabriella will amaze you with her cozy tiny house.
The Cricket is a rustic historic cabin in a small neighborhood on Spring Street along side the rushing Clear Creek and nestled among an Aspen grove.

If you decide to book during the season, it will cost you $395 a night. But if you are interested in staying off-season, the price drops dramatically down to just $125 a night. You also can book a week at a time or a month at a time.
