The owners at Small Dwellings Co. set out to design and build a simple but beautiful tiny house with modern and vintage inspirations. The end result is the “Skinny” tiny house with 174 square feet and gorgeous details. The exterior of the house is covered in a mix of cedar shiplap and galvanized metal which gives it a tough but refined look that’s sure to stand the test of time. With a price tag of $30,000, we foresee the future owners having a lifetime of adventure in this tiny house with a big personality!
Inside, the home is bright with white shiplap walls and darker hardwood floors to add warmth and contrast. Pecan wood was chosen for the steps and countertops and metal piping is scattered throughout for an industrial touch.
With only 19 feet of length on the main floor, everything is pretty compact. The kitchen flows directly into the bathroom with a pocket door for privacy. Built in storage at the end of the cabinet serves both the kitchen and bathroom.
The pocket door for the bathroom is the same galvanized steel that’s on the exterior of the house and it’s also found in the shower.
The shower has built-in storage next to it and a tiled floor.
There’s also a small European style toilet and wall-mounted porcelain sink in the tiny bathroom.
The kitchen has a long countertop made out of pecan wood with a deep stainless steel sink. Across from the sink is a refrigerator and oven with large cubbies above for storage. You also have storage in the compact staircase leading up to the sleeping loft.
