If you haven’t caught on yet, we’re massive fans of the Tiny Heirloom company so we’re thrilled that they have their very own show called “Tiny Luxuries”. On season two of their show, they highlighted the “Rustic Tiny House” built for one of their clients with a strong vision for their family’s new home. The fully transportable home is stunning too look at and even has a rooftop deck with a bar on it perfect for enjoying a nightcap while stargazing!
Their custom homes start at $89,000 so this home was at least that much, likely more. While that puts it out of many people’s budget, it’s still worth your while to check out their design so you can get ideas for your own tiny house!
The exterior of the home is a mixture of beautifully stained wood siding and sage green accents. Cream trim around the door and windows ties it all together nicely. A ladder on the back of the home leads up to the spacious deck with a collapsible rail and bar.
You can’t beat the view from the roof! There’s plenty of room for a couple of chairs or you can make a pallet and sleep under the stars.
Inside, the home has a soothing color scheme with country white shiplap walls, wood accents, and seafoam pops of color throughout the home. The spacious floor plan allows for the family to spread out and entertain without feeling cramped.
As you walk through the front door, you step directly into the living area with a full-sized couch that is perfect for lounging and can even double as a guest bed when needed. Unique shelves on the wall give a place to store mementos and books while a file cabinet on the adjacent wall stores notebooks within reach of the couch. Here you can also see the semi-private
main bedroom with large cubbies built into the platform.
Two large windows are on either side of the bed letting natural light fill the cozy space. You also have storage on the partial wall in front of the bed in addition to the large cubbies below the platform.
A custom dining table is across from the couch in the living area with stools that tuck underneath for storage. The butcher block top blends well with the other wood accents in the home.
The table is level with the kitchen countertops and the base is the same seafoam color of the cabinets making both areas flow together nicely. The kitchen features gorgeous cabinetry with an electric cooktop and a huge farmhouse sink with a beautiful gooseneck faucet.
Open storage is across from the sink as well as a mini-fridge. The ladder leading to the loft extends over the storage nook and up to the bedroom with two twin beds.
The loft has a sliding window next to the beds as well as a large skylight that can also be opened for fresh air. The slanted ceiling gives you ample headroom for moving around so you won’t have to worry about bumping your head getting in and out of bed.
Below the loft is the home’s bathroom with a huge shower stall featuring striking tile and stonework. Open shelves are tucked next to the shower to store your linens and toiletries and there’s also a vanity and toilet.
This tiny house was built to the client’s specific vision for their new home but it could still be the inspiration for yours! Go to http://www.tinyheirloom.com/portfolio-item/rustic-tiny-home/ to see more pictures and details.
