With a love for building, design, and reclaimed materials, it’s no wonder that Perch & Nest models have turned out to be some of our favorite tiny houses over the years. Their latest model was released in April and we are, once again, in love! The Roost 36 is a tiny farmhouse on wheels that was designed to be family-friendly with two lofts and a large screened-in porch.
Video House Tour:
The screened porch is spacious enough for a large table and chairs and the screens can actually retract into the posts transforming it into a covered porch.
Inside, the home is beautiful with white shiplap walls, pale rustic floors, and tons of natural light through the large windows and skylights that are found throughout the floor plan.
The living room is in the front of the home and features a wall of built-in storage with a window seat across from the full-sized couch. The smaller of the two lofts is over the porch area and is accessible by a ladder at the front of the room.
Up the ladder is this sweet little loft with a porthole window. There’s enough room for a full-sized bed and the pitched roof gives you extra headroom.
Back downstairs, the kitchen is in the center of the tiny house and features a gorgeous mint-green SMEG refrigerator. There are also black lower cabinets with creative crate storage above for plates and dishes. The countertop is made from cement and it’s all poured around a large farmhouse sink which is a crucial element for farmhouses!
The master bedroom loft is accessed by a winding staircase off of the kitchen. Upstairs, you have enough space for a king-sized bed or you can choose a queen like shown here to give you room for storage furniture. Multiple windows fill the room with natural light and let fresh air breeze through and light fixtures on the walls give you reading light at night.
Back downstairs is the bathroom which is another incredible feature of this tiny house. The bathtub is made out of a horse trough! It’s painted matte black on the exterior with a white interior and makes the perfect soaking tub that can also be used as a shower! The toilet is flushable but it also has off-grid capabilities if chosen. And don’t miss the sink which is a
mint-green bowl on a custom wooden vanity!
There’s so much more to see in this vintage tiny farmhouse, so be sure to check out this video tour: https://youtu.be/VvBFFv0Yajg.
