Masha of Oregon City, Oregon has been fascinated with the tiny house movement since she first heard about it. She even took it for a “test drive” by renting one through Airbnb before making the leap to build her own. Once she decided it was time to move into her own home, she worked with an architect to design a completely custom and unique home that worked for her lifestyle. The 325-square foot house is 22 feet long and has the most creative space-saving features we’ve ever seen!
The exterior was painted a cheery red with white accents much like a red barn. She saved costs by doing a lot of the finishing work on her own and just calling in the experts for the more complicated jobs.
The interior was kept nice and open and the addition of French doors and large windows make the home feel large and bright. Most of the wood inside was kept its natural color with pops of color added to the doors and cabinets.
One of Masha’s ideas was to make the bottom portion of the staircase moveable so she put it on rollers. The purpose was to conceal storage that she put inside!
Her table was another space-saving feature. The top could be folded out when needed and even the chairs tuck out of the way when not being used!
The kitchen adds lots of character with its bold colors and stained glass windows. She has a red mini-fridge tucked under the cabinet and brought in an antique hutch to add more storage.
The bathroom is just off the kitchen and has a full-sized toilet and shower stall.
On the other end of the trailer, a unique loft was made to give Masha a space to work in.
Below the work area is a mattress and another work area as well as a washer/dryer unit behind the curtain.
The main bedroom is in the loft above the kitchen which is reached by the split staircase.
The arched ceiling gives you plenty of headroom and the space is large enough for a mattress and storage cubbies. All of her special touches make this a cozy room!
Masha did a great job designing and building her first tiny home and we think she’s going to live happily in it for a long time!
