We love park models because while they can be slightly bigger than a typical tiny house, they offer incredible floor plans that give you tons of room to spread out with a family and entertain guests. This model from Sustain Design Studio is called the Cali SOLO 1 and it has 640 square feet with one of the more interesting layouts we’ve seen. A large breezeway in the middle of the home separates your living area from the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom so you can entertain on one side of the house without disturbing the other side.
We love the idea of being able to have separation or, if you want to be together, simply open the large sliding doors and use the breezeway as an extension for dining.
Another great feature of this model is that it’s impact-free to the environment. The structure is made out of engineered lumber and the siding is a mix of Cedar and cementitious panels. All materials used in the home are sustainable and high-quality and you can also make the home off-grid capable.
The living area is bright thanks to large windows and glass panels that give you a great view while also letting natural light fill the room. There’s plenty of space for several pieces of furniture to fit comfortably allowing you to entertain your guests with ease.
On the other side of the house, you have a spacious kitchen with tons of storage space and room for a full-sized dining table in front of the wide windows. The kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator and stove with long countertops and upper and lower cabinets.
Over the kitchen and bathroom, you have a lofted storage space which can be set up as a guest room or used for storing items. We think it would be perfect for two twin sized beds making room for extra guests.
The bathroom is roomy with a large vanity area with several cabinets and drawers. Across from the sink area is a full-sized tub and shower combo and you also have a toilet in a semi-private space beyond the cabinets.
Past the bathroom is a gorgeous master bedroom with room for a king-sized bed and night stands. At the foot of the bed, you have two built-in armoires with tons of natural light coming through the tall windows next to them.
This same floor plan could easily be used for a tiny house by shrinking some of the rooms so don’t toss the idea just because it’s a little bigger than “tiny”!
