You may remember us covering an incredible treehouse that you could rent outside of Ontario. Well now the owner, Lynn Knowlton, has added on to the retreat with what she’s calling the “Bunkie Cabin” and it’s everything you’d expect it to be: whitewashed walls, wood accents, and pops of color. The cabin had one bedroom in the loft and was designed to be rented with the treehouse as another place for extra guests to retreat to.
Inside, the walls, ceilings, and floors are all whitewashed making the home a blank canvas. Pops of color were added in the furniture (check out that awesome vintage cabinet!) and décor. Natural wood accents also help warm the cabin up and keep it from being too stark.
The cabin has a completely open floor plan with a loft above the kitchen. A daybed is used as a couch and can also be used as another bed for guests.
The kitchen has a long countertop with a mini fridge and stove/oven combo. Lynne also added an incredible vintage cabinet that’s used to store dishes and cups. A small table sits on the side of the kitchen underneath a reclaimed window.
Lynne added vintage charm everywhere she could including the windows which were bought from a vendor that sells reclaimed architecture. A white farmhouse sink adds even more appeal when sunk into the chipped wood countertops.
The windows in the kitchen swing out to an outside bar with chairs where guests can be served cocktails from inside the cabin.
Natural wood frames the interior of the home and adds a warm touch to the white color scheme. The large wood posts are reclaimed wood and were kept natural to show off their character and raw beauty.
The loft bedroom has even more of the reclaimed wood and is large enough for a queen-sized bed and small bedside tables.
If you’ve noticed something missing, you’re right: the bathroom is outside of the cabin. Located just across the path in what’s called “laTreen”, what may look rustic is actually a luxurious room.
Featuring light wood walls and a custom sink area, the bathroom is beautiful and has everything you need to wash the day away.
This property has everything you could wish for on a family reunion or even an event like a wedding! Just check out this massive pool!
