Yahini Homes is a tiny house manufacturer which specializes in really tiny homes. Most of their houses are no larger than 200 square feet, and some are quite a bit smaller than that. At 300 square feet, this tiny cabin is the biggest space that the architect has constructed to date (at least judging by the projects posted on the site).
This house has all the hallmarks of classic Yahini design. You can see that the front door is not along one of the narrow sides of the building, but is along one of the wide faces. There is a large porch and an overhanging roof to shelter it from precipitation and sun.
Inside, the house is wide open! Look at all that floor space—it’s unbelievable. It goes to show that the “long and narrow” design which is so popular among tiny house manufacturers is not the only way to go. The entire kitchen only takes up the corner of the room, leaving the rest of the space free.
Another great design element here is that window seat. From what I can tell, it only projects slightly outward—but there is an illusion that it is not taking up any floor space (it is of course—you can see that by looking to the right of it). It preserves the feeling of spaciousness while providing a lovely spot to sit. It also can be converted into a double bed!
The bathroom is tiny, but it is very nice. Check out the narrow design of the sink which sits flush against the wall.
The final price of this home was $28,000 for the house itself plus $2,000 to set it up—a pretty sweet deal for such a beautiful abode. Learn more at Yahini Homes.
