Kanga Room Systems is a tiny house company specialized in high-quality, prefabricated kits that clients can order to build their dream home. We’re going to share several of their models with you over the next few posts starting with their 14×20 Modern Cabin Dwelling. The exterior of the home is modern looking with gray siding and a slanted roofline. Bright pops of color were added to the porch rails and front door by the owner.
Slim, stacked windows are on the side of the house for architectural interest and to let natural light inside. There are also long windows lining the top of the walls to let more light in.
Inside, the home has an open floor plan which is basically one large room with a separate bathroom. Hardwood floors and light colored walls give a classic palette to the home as does the tongue-and-groove ceiling.
The living room is in the front corner of the house with plenty of natural light coming through the triple stacked windows. You have room for a full-sized couch and several pieces of furniture in the space without feeling too cramped.
The kitchen is along the opposite wall with custom cabinets on the bottom and open shelving on top. Compact appliances were added to save space while still delivering functionality.
This owner chose to separate the bedroom from the rest of the home with a large armoire that doubles as a closet. You could also hang a curtain or leave it open to the living room. In the bedroom nook, there’s space for queen-sized bed but these owners chose to save space and use a twin-sized bed to make room for other furniture.
The bathroom is in the back corner of the house and it features a corner shower with a flushable toilet and sink vanity.
While this is just a simple room, that’s really the spirit behind the company and we like the practicality and minimalism of the tiny house!
