Tiny homes these days come in all shapes and sizes- from converted trailers to container homes- you find just about anything available to you to make the tiny home you want.
If you are having trouble deciding on how to construct your tiny home then a modular home is for you.
Modular homes gained popularity after World War II when returning troops were in dire need of affordable housing.
The process of creating modular homes involves building 3D sections of a complete home in a factory in bulk at a manufacturing facility and then transporting those where they are needed.
These sections are then combined and assembled into a complete home according to the buyer’s specifications.
With these types of homes, the owners can choose specific modules in their homes i.e. a specific bathroom or bedroom layout- the customization of these homes is endless!
What is interesting about modular homes is that everything is done off-site and when they arrive all the wiring for the electric, plumbing, insulation, flooring, windows, and doors are all finished and in place and all that really needs to be done is to just put the pieces together in the layout prescribed by the owner.
They take only a few weeks to put together and are therefore made more affordable as they cut down on build times, inspection (as this happens during the build at the factory) and require less labor to put together.
Modular homes, once placed on a foundation, cannot be moved easily and are considered permanent structures that follow strict guidelines and regulations as defined by local, state, and federal government building codes- which oftentimes exceed that of on-site housing standards.
