Crossing the big pond to visit the UK is on our bucket list and we’ve already found where we’re going to stay! The Firefly is a rustic tiny house located in Cornwall sitting in a lush and private setting. The beautiful home is rented out through Unique Home Stays for around $2,400 a week and sleeps two so this isn’t your ideal family destination but it’s perfect for a romantic retreat or solo getaway.
The home takes full advantage of the scenic surroundings by having large outdoor seating areas and an outdoor fireplace. The large barn doors leading inside can even be left open to create an indoor/outdoor living room.
A small pond is next to the home and is best enjoyed at dusk from the comfortable rocking chairs on the large deck.
Inside, the home is covered in thick rustic wood with chunky beams and hardwood floors. The kitchen is large with deep countertops and plenty of cabinet storage. A dining table is off of the kitchen with seating for up to four guests. And as you can see, dogs are welcome at the Firefly for and additional pet fee.
The large barn doors that close off the living areas create a massive opening into the home making the tiny home feel expansive and allowing you to fully enjoy nature.
The living room is cozy with a roaring fireplace and velvety soft sofa to curl up on. Hunting and farming paraphernalia hang from the wall to enforce the rustic nature of the home.
A thick curtain separates the bedroom from the living room. The bedroom has a king-sized bed draped in gray linens and even has a TV mounted on the wall for a modern amenity.
Bi-fold doors can be folded back to open up the room to nature. This is a bedroom that we could lounge in all day!
The bathroom is just off of the bedroom behind a sliding door and it has a toilet, towel warmer, and a unique tub and sink made out of stone with copper fixtures.
