A couple of newlyweds in Albuquerque, New Mexico decided to start their new life together in a custom tiny house so they contacted Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses in Colorado to work with them on the design and build of their new love nest. Deciding on a 24-foot-long house, they used Structural Insulated Panels finished with gray-stained cedar lap siding and cedar shakes with a corrugated metal roof. The charming home gets even more impressive when you step inside.
French doors lead into the home from a platform which hides storage beneath the step. The home has a loft overhead and a cozy living area on the main floor.
This home features a unique design that hides storage under the platforms around the house. For example, in this picture you can see that the kitchen sits on a platform and underneath that platform is a full-sized bed that can be pulled out for guests! The small couch simply rolls out of the way and the sunken level becomes a bed! The kitchen platform also has a
storage space underneath the right side hidden under a trap door.
The bathroom is on the back of the trailer and features a wet bath with custom tile work and a sliding barn door and composting toilet. This is a bathroom that truly saves space!
Outside the bathroom is a nook that’s currently being used for storage but is planned to be used for a crib when the couple has a baby one day. The main sleeping area is up the ladder and has enough room for a full-sized bed and plenty of headroom.
This home was mostly designed by the couple with help from the talented team at Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses and ending up costing around $51,000.
