When tiny house lover Alden purchases her plans from Tumbleweed after attending one of their workshops, she fully believed she could DIY the build of her new tiny house. However, after hitting more than a couple of roadblocks, she reached out to Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses who were able to save the day. After deconstructing the partial build, they worked with Alden to create the tiny house that she had envisioned and the results were both charming and functional.

We love the bright blue accents on the exterior of the home but we may love all of the touches on the interior even more! Alden had already purchased many of the finishes and high-end fixtures herself, but if you were to build a tiny house like her’s it would probably cost around $87,000.
One of the custom features of the home is table and chairs that can also be used as a couch for lounging or even a guest bed! All she has to do is lower the table and use the back cushions of the seats on the bench.
The kitchen has modern cabinets that were bought from Ikea with a custom stainless steel countertop and a large sink. She was able to fit in a full sized refrigerator and a triple burner cooktop. The kitchen also has a small counter that can be used as a desk area or extra prep room when needed.
Alden worked with the builders to design a custom dish rack that would not only store dishes but also drip dry them with the water draining into the sink.
One of our favorite features is this huge pull-out pantry that the builders custom made for Alden. It simple pulls out to reveal large shelves for food storage and then closes up and out of the way!
The bathroom of this tiny house is one of the largest that we’ve ever seen! It has a full-sized soaking tub plus a large area that serves as a closet and storage space. Now, getting back to the tub, it’s one of the most luxurious tubs that we’ve ever seen! The Japanese wood Ofuro soaking tub was bought by Alden and costs over $2,000! The builders added a shower curtain
rod in case she ever wants to use it as a shower base.
Across from the tub is the extra-large storage area with custom shelves that can be adjusted as needed.
A composting toilet with custom “squatty potty” pedestals are also in the bathroom.
In the back corner of the bathroom are winding stairs with storage built in that lead up to the loft.
Upstairs is a huge and open loft with built-in cubbies that provide privacy without completely sealing off the loft.
The loft even has a projector and screen so Alden can watch movies while lounging in her loft!
This home was a huge project for Alden and the builders to come together on but we think it was worth the wait!
