You may have seen pictures of this amazing tiny house floating around before, but we had to cover it again because it’s so beautiful! Jeremy Thompson and his artist wife, Mira, decided to transform an old school bus into their dream home and the end result was this utterly charming (and still drivable!) home.
The home is covered in cedar shake and has a rounded front door painted a lovely shade of blue that greets their guests. We love the flower boxes outside the windows and how it makes the exterior feel so inviting.
Inside, it’s hard to believe this was once a bus! A large round window is next to the kitchen. We love this little area with a bookshelf and wood countertops next to the comfy perch.
The walls are covered in painted wood with crown molding while the gorgeous tongue-and-groove ceilings were kept natural. The floors are made from reclaimed wood and pull the areas of the bus together nicely. From here you can see the driver’s cabin! It’s crazy to think this is still a working bus!
The kitchen has vintage-looking appliances including a small fridge in a buttery yellow color and a stove/oven combo. You also have tons of closed storage in the custom cabinets and a large window to look out while you wash dishes in the deep porcelain sink.
On the other side of the kitchen is a small seating area just before the incredibly charming and lovely sleeping area.
The bedroom area has a custom bed and loft that’s one-of-a-kind! You have a bed on the lower level with storage built around it. Then on top is another pallet which was made extra cozy thanks to the string of lights and window. This may be our favorite sleeping area ever!
The house took about two years to complete and the family is now living in it in Puget Sound. They were so successful with it that they’ve started their own business called Von Thompson Creative.
