There you can stay in any of a number of unique tiny houses built entirely out of salvaged materials. All are reasonably priced and utterly unique. One of the most distinctive is definitely the Gingered Swan.
Salvage Texas writes that, “The Gingered Swan is one of our favorite tiny and artistic designs.” It is understandable why. It really does look like a work of art—almost as much a sculpture as a house. The entire building has a very delicate look to it. With its ornamentation and its wide wrap-around porch, it also has a bit of an Old West vibe.
The shape of the house appears less unusual from this angle, but the structure is no less marvelous.
It is easy to see based on the color scheme where the Gingered Swan gets its name. The interior, like the exterior, has a very artistic flavor to it. The steps/storage cabinets almost look more like a work of abstract geometric art.
Owing to the unique paint job, the steps blend organically into the walls, almost like they are simply an outgrowth of them. The kitchen counter is very small, but functional enough for a vacation stay.
Thanks to the vertical nature of the building, the second floor actually takes the form of a full bedroom, not just a loft.
Originally, I thought that the top deck was probably ornamental in nature since it has such a fragile book about it. As you can see though, it is entirely functional. You can sit up there and look out at Salvage Texas’ 43 acres of stunning land.
Being as the Gingered Swan measures a mere 80 square feet on the ground level and 70 square feet on the second floor, there is no bathroom inside. In this photo, you see the nearby community bathroom which is available to all guests staying at the B&B.
The bathhouse is positively luxurious inside.
I am head over heels in love with this tiny house! It is one of the most artistic tiny houses I’ve ever seen, so my mind is blown that it is possible to stay here for only $39 per night.
