Last year we featured a beautiful minimalist tiny retreat in Pepin, Wisconsin by a company called Alchemy Architects. This firm’s portfolio is a veritable goldmine of tiny house brilliance, so today I want to showcase another elegant, minimalist design which caught my eye.
Called the Red Lodge Weehouse, this home actually consists of two structures. There is a main house and a studio, the latter of which can double as a guest house with handicap-accessible features.
The home is named for the town of Red Lodge where it is located. I’ve been to Red Lodge; it’s a small town with just a couple thousand residents. It’s right near the Beartooth Highway, which crosses over a high pass into Yellowstone National Park.
So when I tell you the scenery is “beautiful,” I am making a massive understatement. That is exactly what makes the minimalist design of this tiny house so ideal for its setting. There is nothing here to distract from the mountains on the horizon or the big, dramatic skies overhead.
The large doors and windows grace the home’s occupants with amazing views of the breathtaking countryside.
