When the gourmet chef who owned The Pure Package catering business in Surrey, England decided to build a new kitchen and private retreat, she took a very untraditional approach.
Jennifer Irvine envisioned a place where she could cook for her direct-to-door business, host parties and cooking lessons, relax, and spend time with her family. She wanted it to be practical, fun, comfortable and unique.
So she decided on a tiny tree house from Blue Forest.
Usually it is a challenge trying to squeeze a kitchen into a tiny house. But when the entire house is constructed around the kitchen as the central feature, the specialized design makes for amazing possibilities.
Stepping inside, it feels like walking into a serene professional haven, a sanctum dedicated to the gastronomical arts.
The kitchen island has an organic, flowing shape which fits nicely in with the tree house theme. The sink is located in a separate counter in the back.
From this angle, you can get a better view of the table as well as the island. From this angle it is clear that the island’s functionality goes beyond providing counter space. It also has a lot of large storage shelves. In fact, it looks like it is mostly hollowed-out. A set of outlets is incorporated here as well. With their placement under the countertop, they are protected from water (something which a lot of builders don’t even seem to think about).
Just as appealing as the kitchen is the fire pit out on the deck. There is room to set down food and beverages if desired, and the seats themselves are large and comfy. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, it is hard to imagine a more amazing spot to entertain.
