Typically, “homey” is about the last word that you would likely associate with a Luton truck. Luton trucks look downright industrial and utilitarian. So this one from Rustic Campers is quite a surprise …
It’s quite a startling contrast, isn’t it? For the most part, we have what looks like a regular Luton truck—but the back has been replaced completely. In fact, it gives the odd illusion that there is a regular home squished inside the truck—which in a way is true.
While the appearance is almost jarringly discordant, I like it. There is a sense of humor here, and the back of the truck certainly evokes curiosity, hinting that there is far more to this vehicle than meets the eye.
Did you gasp? Because I did. What the door promised, the interior delivered on—and that is a home. Standing inside, you would never guess that this is a Luton truck.
I would like to add at this point that the door itself is a work of art! It is mesmerizing!
The polished wood surfaces of the cabinets, countertop and walls are stunning as well. They showcase the wood grain perfectly.
You could see the stove and the oven in the previous shot. You might have been wondering where the sink was. In this photo, it is revealed that it is on the other side of the room. It’s small, but it gets the job done. You also can see a closet here and some shelves.
As best I can tell from other photos, what we are looking at here is a bottom bunk bed—and it is a work of art! With the wood birds, clouds and rays of sunlight, I think this may be one of the most exquisite original designs I have ever seen gracing any tiny house. It has an almost “storybook” appeal, which makes me think it’d make a perfect bunk for a child, but any imaginative adult should love it just as much.

In this photo, you can see the tiny living room. The table is very small, but the L-shaped seating around it maximizes the number of people who can sit and dine or chat. You also can now see the placement of the lower bunk bed, and get a glimpse of the top bunk above it.
This photo shows off the wood grain. These have to be some of the most gorgeous natural textures I have ever seen.
It appears that what I assumed was a closet before next to the front door is actually the shower. The location is unusual, but in such a small space, sometimes things have to go where you least expect them. Since there would be no privacy getting in or out of the shower, I think this living situation would be most suitable for one person.
