One of the biggest concerns with tiny houses is the lack of storage space which is why Tina and Luke Orlando of Oregon spent 18 months designing their dream tiny house and working out as much storage room as possible. Once they settled on the design, they contacted Daystar Tiny Homes to make their vision come true. Their 204 square foot home is an inspiration and shows everyone that tiny homes can have some major storage capabilities.
Not only does this home have tons of storage space, it can also be taken off-grid thanks to the rainwater collection system and solar panels plus many other sustainable features. Another bonus is that the house is also attractive to look at with beautiful wood siding, green metal accents, and a rooftop deck.
The homeowners love the look of wood and so it was put to use as much as possible on the interior of the home. The ceilings are tongue-and-groove and the walls are wrapped in redwood panels. But perhaps the most beautiful wood feature are the redwood slab countertops with live edges.
The living room is in the front of the home with an L-shaped couch that can be pulled out into a guest bed fits the space perfectly. A small loft is overhead for storage or a small mattress and everywhere else that you look has some kind of storage space either in cubbies, drawers, or hooks!
One of the passions of this couple is fostering dogs in addition to their three full-time dogs! And so, it was crucial to have plenty of room for kennels which were worked in under the long counters in the kitchen. There are also built-in food and water bowls and dens for the puppies to burrow in.
Another dog kennel was built into the storage wall and is surrounded by drawers and cubbies.
The kitchen is in the center of the home with the long redwood counters running down both sides of the space. There’s also a cooktop on one end of the kitchen and a deep stainless steel sink.
The bathroom is off of the kitchen and features a composting toilet, slim sink vanity and a large tiled shower with a slatted floor.

Upstairs is a large sleeping loft with more built-in storage at the head of the queen-sized bed. A small door leads you out to the rooftop deck giving you a great view of the scenery wherever the road takes you.
What’s even more exciting about this tiny home is that the plans for it are now available through Back Country Tiny Homes on their website at http://www.backcountrytinyhomes.com/.
