If you are thinking about moving into a tiny house with a family, you may wonder if it will be too cramped. But this beautiful house proves that even a family with a child and a pet can be comfortable living in a tiny space.
The house belongs to an innovative builder named Eric Jacob, who lives in it with his wife, Abbie, their baby, and their dog.
The loft has room not just for the couple’s bed, but also for their baby’s crib.
Moving into the tiny house wasn’t an easy decision, because the family needed housing before the new dwelling was even complete! That meant they had to put up with no water or power for a while. The walls were not even finished.
Thankfully, their hard work and patience paid off. You can see that they are no longer roughing it. They now have an exquisitely comfortable place to call their own.
The kitchen is particularly spectacular! Check out that absolutely amazing spice rack on the left.
I have never seen so many ingredients in a tiny house kitchen before. You could cook anything in here!
A wood stove provides plenty of heat for the home. In fact, it can apparently get to be on the warm side sometimes. Something else which stands out in this photo are the colorful curtains used to screen off the cabinets under the countertop. While this is not the “neatest” look in the world, it is certainly a fun and inviting one.
This photo shows the computer workstation—a feature that a lot of tiny homes do not seem to go out of their way to include, but which most people probably need. You can also see the stairs which lead up to the main loft. Another nice feature is the fur carpet on the floor, which adds a touch of luxurious warmth and coziness.
There’s a second smaller loft as well. In this photo, it may not seem immediately obvious how the loft can be accessed. But if you look closely at the bookshelf, you can see that it doubles as a set of steps. What a genius way to conserve space.
This loft houses a flat screen TV and a lot of books. It is nice seeing a different solution to the TV screen placement. All too many tiny houses seem to have the TV placed high up on a wall where would be extremely uncomfortable to watch. Sitting in this cozy loft and looking directly across the screen looks a lot more comfortable and ergonomic.
The bathroom is a simple, practical affair, equipped with a composting toilet and a shower which can also serve as a bathtub.
Finally, the roof of a home is sturdy enough that it can be used as an extension to the living space, with a ladder leading up to it so that it can function as a sort of deck.
