Kanga Room Systems of Waco, Texas specialized in the design of prefabricated tiny houses that can be shipped directly to your door so you can exercise your DIY bone. The model that we can’t get enough of is the Kanga Cottage Cabin which is a 480 square foot house with a huge front porch and an 8-foot screened-in porch on the side. If you like enjoying the outdoors from a rocking chair, you need to see this home!
Right away, we fell in love with the Southern style of this home with its large front porch and white posts and, of course, the metal roof. There’s nothing better on a rainy day than the sound of rain on a tin roof!
If that’s not enough, the home also has a huge screened-in porch on the side of the house that serves as a second living room.
Who wouldn’t want to spend an evening here without having to deal with bugs?
Heading inside, the home has a mostly open floorplan with a large living area. The room is big enough for plenty of seating and you still have room for a full-sized dining table.
The shiplap walls in the home are painted white which really lets the warm wood on the ceiling and exposed beams shine!
Large windows and glass French doors let natural light and fresh air flood into the home.
The ladder leading up the loft is a custom piece that is anything but an eyesore! Each step has a large basket for storage and adds a classic look to the home.
The bathroom is on the side of the home and just before you get to it is an electric heater tucked into the corner which puts off enough heat to warm the entire home!
The bathroom is wrapped in shiplap and has a small vanity area and a tub and shower combo.
The kitchen is on the other side of the loft access and features a full-sized refrigerator and furniture that has been repurposed as kitchen counters. Pots were hung from the ceiling on a rack to save space.
More traditional cabinets and drawers on the opposite wall of the kitchen as well as a microwave and oven/stove combo.
Not pictured is the upstairs loft which is a large area for one or two beds. This tiny house would be the perfect country retreat or even a hunting cabin.
