The Rempis family are huge fans of scary movies so when they decided to downsize from a 2,150-square foot house into a tiny house, they decided to design their own version of a Gothic house. The only catch was that it had to fit their family of three, plus their three dogs and three cats! With the help of Triple B Construction of Castalian Springs, Tennessee, they built a 480-square foot gothic-inspired tiny house and learned that living with less is actually living with more!

The exterior of the home was made to look like a gothic church with a high pitched roof and stone siding. Arched windows add to the effect as well.
For such a tiny house, the home has a large front porch and a smaller side porch. You can also see the arched and round windows better in this picture and how they mimic something you’d see in an old church. The family actually has visitors come by asking what kind of church it is!
Inside, the home has an open floorplan with a large staircase descending towards the entry as a grand focal point. Every surface is covered in beautiful and rustic wood and the stairs feature handsome hand carved spindles and railings.
The kitchen features dark stained wooden cabinets with a gray countertop and full-sized appliances. One of the more interesting features are the double round windows looking outside like two large eyes!
The daughter of the family was at first reluctant to downsize but after getting to design her own place in the house, she now loves the lifestyle. Her room is in the smaller loft and has a large round window and plenty of room for a bed and furniture.
The master bedroom is in the larger of the two lofts at the top of the grand staircase and it features a beautiful gothic window and plenty of room for a large bed and furniture.
Back downstairs, the bathroom has something you don’t see in many tiny houses: a clawfoot tub! Mrs. Rempis chose a tub over a dishwasher and has never regretted the decision! The bathroom also has gorgeous tile floors and a large tile surround on the back of the tub.
Here you can see the grandeur of the tiny gothic house. Just take a look at all of the woodwork!
A small desk area was set up just inside the doorway which gives them just enough room to get homework or assignments done.
One of the really neat and innovative features of the home is the family’s dining table which fits under their staircase like a puzzle when not in use and then folds out to this charming table and chair set when it’s time for a meal.
