If you’re looking for a super tiny house which is big on charm, you should take a look at the unique and unusual Arcadia from B&B Micro Manufacturing. Ignoring the loft, there are only 143 square feet of space. Nonetheless, even with such a small profile, the Arcadia appears sumptuously comfortable. Let’s take a look.
The exterior of the Arcadia makes a striking impression with its pine shiplap siding. A special technique for woodburning from Japan called “Shou Sugi Ban” was used to achieve the distinctive look.
With its angled roof, unique colors and textures, and contrasting dark windows and doors, the Arcadia has a modern look and feel. The railing however makes for a nice rustic accent.
Wherever you park it, the Arcadia offers the perfect escape from the ordinary.
What a place to call home sweet home!
The interior is as gorgeous as the exterior. Here too there is contrast. The walls are white, but the ceiling features dark wood. A painting on the wall featuring many of the same colors you see in the wood paneling makes an elegant complement. A ladder leads up from the living area to the loft.
Like the exterior, the interior décor is a combination of modern and rustic accents. These combine seamlessly to create an environment which offers the best of both worlds.
A surprising amount of storage space is packed into the home’s tiny profile. But the manufacturer still has found room for plenty of large windows.
A skylight brings extra light into the kitchen. This is a feature which is underutilized in tiny house design. It is great to see it here.
The loft has a very low ceiling, but a skylight keeps it from feeling oppressive. There are also windows all around.
This couch offers a comfortable place to relax throughout the day. It could also serve as a second sleeping space for a guest.
Indeed, it can be converted into one.
The kitchen features a bar with classic barstools.
Food can be prepared or eaten at the counter.
The kitchen is equipped with a three-burner stove, an oven, a fridge, and a freezer. The fridge and freezer are situated under the counter. They blend right in.
The kitchen has a clean, uncluttered look to it, which is amazing considering how small it is. I have seen larger kitchens in tiny houses which boast a higher square footage which look a lot more crowded and chaotic.
A sliding barn door adds another rustic element.
In the bathroom, you will find a full-size shower with a luxurious rain shower head. There is a porcelain sink and a macerating toilet.
