Wheelhaus is a talented tiny house designer with some amazing little houses for sale. Previously, I shared “The Caboose” with you, a high-end rustic dwelling which would be any tiny house enthusiast’s dream home. Now it’s time to check out another brilliant tiny house from Wheelhaus called “The Wedge.”
As you can see, “The Wedge” is a slice of sheer delight! The wood gives the building a rustic feel, but the layout is decidedly contemporary with a sloped, flat roof, high windows, and modern angles.
It sure looks cozy in the snow, doesn’t it? Let’s step inside and warm up!
The living area is spacious. On a bright day, the high windows would bring in plenty of sunlight to flood the room. A tall cabinet provides plenty of storage space, and the open design of the kitchen means the cook has plenty of room to work with.
Now we’re talking … check out that fireplace. Seated on that plush couch watching the flat-screen TV with the snow falling outside … now that’s what I call comfort!
The bedroom is small of course, but as far as tiny house bedrooms go, it is actually pretty roomy. There are some lovely rustic elements here which add character to the space, in particular that awesome tree stump bedside table.
Check it out. There is enough room in here for a desk, complete with large drawers and room to sit. Another flat-screen TV mounted on the wall across from the bed makes for cozy late night viewing.
I’m a little unclear as to whether this is a separate space or if it is a redecorated version of the same main living area we looked at before (presumably it is the latter). It just goes to show, no matter what you do as far as decorating, it looks amazing!
You have to love that barn door! Talk about adding character to a home!
Let’s look at some specs. This beauty measures 38 feet long by 10 and a half feet wide. The bedrooms can fit two side tables along with a king or queen sized bed; the entire house can sleep four adults. A full kitchen is provided, including a two-burner cook top, a 24” wide combined fridge and freezer unit, a microwave, a dishwasher, and a full-size bar for dining and drinking.
Don’t you want to relax and feast your eyes on that view? If you purchase a unit which includes a deck, it measures 47 feet in length rather than 38.
When you order the Wedge, you are getting a finished home which includes all necessary hookups for utilities. You need the water line, sewer connection and power 50 AMP service, but the home itself is ready to go. The house is fully insulated, and there is even a conduit ready for a cable internet connection. You just provide the furnishings and decorate the house to personalize it.
Wheelhaus has also designed another version of the Wedge, the “Roadhaus Wedge RV.” This less expensive model is smaller than the Wedge but features the same basic look, feel and layout. As it is on wheels, it is easy to move from one location to another.
Like the original Wedge, it includes all utility hookups, is fully insulated, and includes all appliances.
Even though it is smaller than the original Wedge, it is a real beauty, perfect if you don’t need 400 square feet and want to keep your home mobile. Two size options are available: 160 or 240 square feet.
Interested in purchasing the Wedge or its RV counterpart? Check it out on the Wheelhaus website. As of the time of this writing, the base price is $89,500, but for a luxurious tiny home which includes practically everything you need, that is a solid value.
