I realize I am pushing the definitions of “tiny house” to call this one, but it sure is tiny, and is surrounded by a very, very big world with a lot of open space.
If you want to stay at the Skylodge, you first have to venture 400 meters up the mountain. Getting to your room may test your nerves a bit …
But once you are there, you are greeted with views like these:

If you thought the views during the daytime were stunning, wait until you check out a sky full of stars after the sun sets.
If you are feeling really brave, you can enjoy a tasty picnic lunch suspended on the “porch” of your capsule. I would have a hard time ever getting comfortable on that little plank of wood, but these two look perfectly at ease.
This is the best photo I could find in terms of giving an idea for how the space is organized inside each capsule. Notice that the entire capsule is fully transparent, even the floor. The materials used in construction include weather-resistant polycarbonate and aerospace aluminum. Not only are there beds in there, but each capsule also includes a bathroom and a dining area.
Each capsule measures 24 x 8 feet. That’s 192 feet squared, so in line with some of the tiniest tiny houses.
One rarely thinks of a bathroom as a “room with a view,” but this one will have you feeling like you are on top of the world as you are doing your business. The toilet and sink have a dry ecological design, and there is a curtain you can pull across to maintain your privacy.
Remember when I mentioned that staying at the Skylodge is like staying in a condor’s nest? That comparison was not chosen at random. There are condors living up there on top of the mountain, so you may get to see them while you are staying there.
