Like cedar as a building material? Who doesn’t? It’s gorgeous to look at and has a wonderful scent. One tiny house which features exquisite cedar inside and out is this one which is currently on sale in Portland, Oregon.
Beveled cedar in its natural color comprises the siding, offset by trim in a rusty reddish-brownish color. The result is a nice, clean, simple look.
Wood dominates the interior as well, though in this case you’re looking at pine tongue-and-groove siding. Pretty much every inch of this house is wood, so if you enjoy its appearance, texture and smell, you will feel right at home in this tiny house. In this photo, you can see the main living space and the ladder which leads to the upstairs loft. You can also see the open door to the bathroom underneath the loft.
The lighting in this photo is much better, with stronger contrasts which provide a better feeling for the depth and layout of the space. We are now standing next to the ladder looking back toward the kitchen and the smaller loft situated above it.
Like the exterior of the house, the bathroom walls are entirely made of cedar, as is the cabinetry. Measuring 32 square feet, it has space for a composting toilet as well as a rainfall shower.
The shower is a truly luxurious feature with enough room that anyone could stand in here comfortably, enjoying the soothing water falling down from above. It puts the cramped showers and tubs in many other tiny houses to shame.
The bathroom includes tiles on the floor for easy cleanup and prevention of mold. In the rest of the house, the flooring is bamboo.
Behold one of the roomy lofts. Plenty of light streams into the windows, but there is a convenient light located on the wall where the head of the bed would go.
This view of the kitchen shows off the counters, cabinets, and sink. If you pull up on the countertop, it opens to reveal a water filter and heater. You can see that there is room to install appliances such as a stove and oven as well as a full-size refrigerator and freezer.
A ceiling fan provides an energy-efficient way to move air through the home.
