Anytime that we think we’ve seen it all when it comes to tiny houses, we’re quickly corrected which is exactly what happened when we saw this next model! The Tilt Cabin is a new tiny house concept that can be pulled by your own full-sized 4-wheel drive vehicle meaning you don’t have to upgrade to a dually. But that’s not the most interesting part of the home! The Tilt
Cabin concept came from the idea to build a house that could go from horizontal while traveling to vertical for living. And so, this innovative home was born!
When tilted down for travel, the tiny house looks like a mostly normal home built on a trailer.
But once you arrive at your destination, the magic happens! The trailer is tilted up to stand the home on its end transforming it into a two-story home with a roof deck!
The exterior of the home is covered in weathered steel and metal and all of the homes have a roof deck that’s either reached by an exterior staircase or by a trap door inside the house.
Inside, the Tilt Cabins are around 160 square feet and they’re made to look rustic with metal and cedar trim. The homes are designed to be either on or off-grid so they have features like tiny stoves to heat the house, solar power, and dry flush toilets.
The home has built-in features like this padded bench which can be used for lounging or dining.
A wall of built-in cabinets is across from the bench and a small TV was installed in a cubby over the closet.
The kitchen has rustic cabinets and distressed looking countertops. A small two-burner cooktop is on one end of the countertops with a tiny stainless steel sink in the middle and a mini-fridge tucked below.
A large staircase is across from the kitchen with built-in storage cabinets and drawers. They even included a large cubby to put the microwave in and save on countertop space.
There aren’t many pictures of the interior of the Tilt Cabin but we really think the most impressive part is the exterior, anyway! If you want to see more of this unique home, visit their website at https://www.tiltcabins.com/.
