In search of a tiny space where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life? This charming 16′ x 24′ was constructed by the Porch Company of Nashville. Previously serving as a library, it is now up for sale. It could be used as a fulltime tiny house, or it could work great as a “she shed” or similar backyard retreat.
What makes this house unique is its layout and appearance. A door set in the center like this is not all that common with tiny homes (in most cases, the door is situated toward one end of the house or the other). A little set of stairs leads up to a sheltered porch with a gabled roof. The effect is that of a regular suburban-style house in miniature. To say it’s adorable is the understatement of the year.
Right now the house is resting on stilts. The buyer will need to move it and attach it to its permanent foundation.
In every season, the exterior of the home is stunning to behold. But the interior will take your breath away …
Wow! The pitched ceiling with its beams is sumptuous, as is that polished hardwood floor! Between two large windows, there is a stone fireplace with a flat-screen TV mounted overhead. A lot of tiny houses do not leave a spot for the TV, but this looks like a great way setup.
Here you can see the part of the home which has been used as a library. I can’t imagine a cozier spot to catch up on some work (or relaxation).
Such a spacious interior makes it seem like this house is anything but “tiny.”
It’s easy to imagine a fire in that hearth, snow blustering outside the windows, and a warm mug of coffee or cocoa in hand …
Apparently there are a couple of small rooms which aren’t shown in the photos. It has been suggested by the owner that one of them could serve as a kitchenette while the other could be converted into a bathroom. This could make the house suitable for fulltime living.
The current list price for the house is $75,000. You can view more details or contact the seller here.
