Want to live in a cool tiny house which can help you to save money on your electric bill? This 2015 house for sale in Signal Mountain, TN was custom-designed to offer a cozy living space and impressive energy efficiency.
With its green metal roof, cedar siding, and small porch, it has a rustic appearance. The spray foam insulation does an amazing job of keeping it comfortable no matter what type of weather you are dealing with outside. There is also a mini-split heater/AC unit to further control the temperature.
The current owner reports that the home is incredibly energy-efficient, writing, “My highest electric bill was $20 in July with the AC running 24/7. My lowest electric bill was $4.92.” Whether or not that was with the use of the 1500 watt Goal Zero generator isn’t stated.
You can take in pretty much the whole layout of the house in this photo with the kitchen on the left and the couch on the right. The sliding door in the back leads to the bathroom, and above is the cozy sleeping loft, which you can reach by climbing a set of open storage stairs. Note the welcoming decorative touches above the sofa.
You can see how much for space is available in the living room in this photo looking down from the loft. Gazing across, you can see the small storage loft on the other side which helps to keep clutter out of the living room.
Tilting the camera slightly, you can see the floor space in the kitchen.
Having been wrestling with moisture problems recently in my own tiny house, I’m starting to appreciate that open storage areas like these compartments under the steps are arguably the wisest choice. Even though they do not give you as clean a look, they allow for much better air circulation, which is ultimately better for anything you are storing.
Wall space in the tiny kitchen is limited. To make the most of it, the owner has installed some hooks for mugs on the left, and has also put in some overhead storage for wine glasses. Below the sink are some open shelves to store ingredients, cookware, and more.
In the bathroom, we have a small vanity next to the door along with a composting a toilet. While counter space around the sink is limited, there is actually enough room for a few items with a little left over.
The most exciting feature in the bathroom is undoubtedly the full-size bathtub/shower! The only detractor is that you would need a curtain for this tub, but hey, at least it is a tub. You don’t see that too often in tiny houses, especially super compact homes like this one.
Finally, the loft, surprisingly, is rather larger than it looked from the ground level! There is room to either side of the bed and in back, and there are some tip-out storage containers. Rolling up your clothing is actually the most space-effective way to store it, so this is quite a bit of clothing storage.
The home will be available for move-in as of February 15th, 2020, but you can contact the seller anytime at Tiny House Marketplace.
