Minimaliste is a Canadian tiny homes company that builds incredible houses starting at $65,000 CAD. While we have shared a number of their beautiful houses on our site, there are a few we still haven’t gotten around to exploring. Let’s take a look at the Saule tiny house on wheels.
Measuring 10′ x 12′, this tiny house offers 235 ft.² of space, not counting the loft. With the loft, it is 260 ft.². With these measurements, it is a bit smaller than many of the other houses Minimaliste had designed to date.
The builder describes the exterior as “one of our favorites so far. The vertical and horizontal arrangement of the cedar cladding creates a harmonious contrast, without too many unnecessary complexities.”
Minimaliste focused on making the interior of this home configurable so as to maximize the functionality of the smaller square footage.
An example of this can be seen in the living room. In this photo, look at the small table with the interior shelves which is situated between the two seats.
By rotating the table, it is possible to expand it.
… and it can be expanded even more if necessary.
Returned to its original state, it’s amazing how little space it takes up when fully collapsed.
Another photo in the living room shows off a small desk, complete with what looks like custom filing cabinets or drawers. I’m always happy when I see a workspace integrated into a tiny house, because it seems that many builders completely neglect this necessity.
The kitchen is enjoined to the living room and includes a 12-volt fridge, a propane heater, and a propane oven. The sink is manufactured out of black granite, and was chosen to match the black steel rods which support the open shelving above.
Concealed behind the ladder which leads to the loft is a pantry that you can pull out of the wall to access and then push back when you no longer need it.
Underneath the loft is the bathroom, which doubles as the laundry room. Ahead of us is the simple vanity, and to the right is a deep, narrow set of shelves for towels and other bathroom and laundry supplies. The shower is located on our left.
Right beside the shower stall are hooks for towels so that you do not need to freeze when stepping out of the shower.
The toilet is wedged between the shelves and the sliding door which leads back out into the kitchen past the pantry and the ladder.
Even with a queen-size bed located in the loft, there is enough room to walk around the sides of the bed. Natural light enters through the windows, and wall sconces provide additional illumination.
Here is a view that encompasses more of the loft and shows you the foot of the bed as well as the convenient open shelves across from it.
The low wall at the edge of the loft provides some safety and privacy but doesn’t occlude the view of the living room and kitchen if you want to look over the edge. You also could use it as a shelf.
The base price for this gorgeous tiny house is $92,000 CAD. Like the other homes that Minimaliste makes, you can customize this one to your needs. If you want to find out more or contact the company, you can visit Minimaliste online. Please let them know that itinyhouses.com sent you.
