Maverick Tiny Homes is a tiny house builder based in Tipp City, OH. As the name of their company implies, their philosophy is to forge a new path of their own with each of their houses. I can confirm from having checked out a few of their homes already that they are doing a great job doing exactly that. Let’s take a look at their flagship design, named of course, “The Maverick.”
You will definitely want to check out the video tour of the house:
The exterior of this house features a simple color scheme which could work in any setting.
The siding is white, and the doors and roof are a dark grayish blue. What really stands out is just how large the doors are, along with the porch lights ushering one in to either side. But nothing on the outside of the home can prepare you for how spacious and unique its interior is …
The French doors work as a decorative element while also providing a great deal of light from outside. The light fixtures throughout the house are contemporary in appearance, offsetting some of the rustic features and materials found throughout the home.
Cozy seating offers a place to relax across from the flat screen TV. The TV has been installed at an angle for more comfortable viewing from below (as someone who generally feels that TVs in houses are situated non-ergonomically, I appreciate this as a step in the right direction). The neutral gray color of the seat fits in well with white and subdued grayish-blue of the walls and door.
The kitchen in this house is particularly spacious, boasting a full-size refrigerator and freezer, a bar for dining, and a huge sink basin. The pitch of the roof increases the vertical space, contributing to the roomy atmosphere.
Skylights provide plenty of natural light to work by.
In this photo, you can see one of the house’s most distinguishing features, which is its unusual loft.
The shape of the loft is quite distinctive. Rather than leaving it wide open or with a minimal railing (as is common in tiny houses), the architects have enclosed most of it, offering more of a “window” between the loft and the main living space. A staircase behind the kitchen leads up to the room.
What is great about this design is that it is a happy medium between two extremes. Instead of an entirely private room which is cut off from the rest of the house or a wide-open loft which is right in the middle of everything, we have a space which is both connected to the rest of the space and at least a little bit private.
The trusses are definitely one of the most eye-catching elements of the interior. While I suspect that their purpose is functional, they double as a decorative embellishment. Indeed, they are the focal point for the entire house from a visual perspective.
There is no comment regarding these shelves, but they look as if they are designed to rotate.
The farmhouse sink is incredibly roomy.
Clever storage solutions save space throughout the kitchen. In a lot of homes, these spaces underneath the cabinets would simply go to waste, but not in the Maverick. Here, they offer valuable storage compartments which are easy to access.
This is what the view from the loft is like, looking toward the fan.
A farmhouse sink is also featured in the bathroom.
Beside it is the laundry machine.
The home is available with either a composting or flushing toilet—your choice. There is also a full-sized bathtub and shower.
Just look at how roomy that shower is. Wow!
