If you are in search of a tiny house that has a bedroom on the ground floor, there are many more options today than there were a few years back. One company which has a number of lovely models with ground floor bedrooms is Pratt Homes, based in Tyler, TX. Let’s explore the Joann.
This tiny house is one that you’ll love in an instant if you like to spend a lot of time outdoors. It has a huge porch which is completely covered from overhead, and which also has a railing around the perimeter to provide partial privacy and a decorative effect.
There is not a lot of information about the tiny house on the website, but you can view the floor plan with some measurements below:
The exterior features a combination of several different colors: white, gray, and that pinkish wood color, which gives it a touch of warmth.
Even though the railing closes off the space enough to give it a more private feeling, there is still plenty of open space to enjoy the views around the tiny house.
The interior is classic and homey. It has a country feel, but is not overly rustic. There is a long couch along the left-hand wall under the large windows. The kitchen is on the right-hand side, with a hallway leading behind it to the bedroom in the back.
This photo taken from the kitchen looking back at the living room helps you to better visualize the entire space. You can also view the porch here through the front doors.
As is common with many tiny houses, this one has been decorated with neutral, soothing colors.
The kitchen features a cooktop and oven on the left with a microwave and cabinets above. In front of us, we see the sink, and to the right, additional counter space. I’m not sure what that small unit on the right side is under the counter. Presumably, it is a mini-fridge, since I do not see a refrigerator otherwise.
The bedroom features a large, comfy-looking bed with a cushioned headboard. I’m not sure if those are large windows to the side of the bed or doors to go right outside.
The contrast between the walls and the ceiling is pleasing to behold, and the color of the wood also seems to be a match for the headboard, bringing unity to the room. A decorative bedside table adds character to the space.
The simple monochromatic color scheme of the bathroom gives it an open atmosphere. It looks like there is plenty of wall space above the sink for a large mirror.
The shower is roomy and even includes a seat. With this feature as well as the ground floor bedroom, this would be an ideal tiny house for those who require extra accessibility.
