Amber and Tommy live in Santa Barbara and are avid surfers with a constant pull to the Pacific Ocean. In order to be able to pursue their passion for the sport, they needed a more affordable home and so they contacted the team at Tiny House Nation to help design a tiny house that could store all TEN of their surfboards, have room for entertaining, and a spacious bedroom loft. Somehow, all of that was squeezed into this unique tiny house with a roll-up garage door that automatically catches your eye.
That garage door can be rolled up to expose the living room to nature with just the flick of a switch. Inside, the room is cozy with space for a full-size couch and chair. We love the reclaimed wood wall!
The kitchen is in the center of the home and is a galley style with one long countertop. The counters are a sleek light gray with white cabinets giving the couple plenty of storage and room to prep meals. Another must-have for the couple was an actual staircase that leads to the loft and that was built in right at the end of the kitchen counter.
The staircase leads up to a spacious loft with room for a queen-sized bed and storage furniture. But the best feature of the room is the outdoor patio which is right off of the bedroom!
Back downstairs is a roomy bathroom with a mosaic tile shower that’s reminiscent of the ocean that the couple loves so much. There’s also a custom sink vanity and composting toilet.
