Hannah Crabtree, the owner of Pocket Mansions, always knew she would grow up to build her own home after being raised in a house her father built with his own two hands. That determination led to a passion for building beautiful tiny houses for her customers. The Maiden Mansion is one of her first tiny houses and she currently rents it out to let people give tiny a living a try before fully committing.
The home is covered cedar shingles with purple trim on the exterior and the fun doesn’t stop once you step inside. Soaring tongue and groove ceilings with skylights make the home feel open and bright while the other eleven windows help the cause as well. Dark trim highlights the home’s architecture while light walls make the home feel larger than it really is.
The living room has a built-in L-shaped bench in the living room with baskets below for storage. Ledges and hooks also give you storage options for books and clothes eliminating the need for furniture on the floor.
Also in the living room is this unique fireplace to give you a soothing focal point while adding warmth during the cooler seasons.
Past the living room is a wide staircase leading to the sleeping loft. Each step doubles as storage space with cubbies and drawers both under the steps and in the front of the staircase.
The loft is spacious giving you enough room for a queen-sized bed and tons of storage space. You even have a closet area and bookcase!
Back downstairs, the kitchen is mostly on one side of the home with custom cabinets and dark countertops. A small cooktop is plugged into the wall on one end of the counter and a compact refrigerator sits on a built-in platform across from the copper sink.
The sink is beautiful being made out of hammered copper which will only get more attractive with age.
