Christoph Riedel and Anna Naygrow are a young couple attending college together in Christchurch, New Zealand. As with many universities, the student accommodations left much to be desired with cold floors and damp walls. Determined not to live in such gloomy conditions for their entire education, they decided to build a tiny house together and inspired others to make their dreams come true.
The main requirement for the tiny house was that it was a warm and calming place to live and study. They have plans to put a fireplace in the home and they’ve made sure that it’s well-insulated for chilly evenings.
While we don’t have many pictures of the tiny house, we love the gumption that the couple showed in building it. Enlisting the help of friends and watching countless hours of tiny house shows, they bought a trailer base and then salvaged as many materials as they could. Altogether, they spent around $50,000 which included a vehicle for towing the home.
