Park Model Homes is on a roll! The newest tiny house from our favorite manufacturer is a Woodland Park model which includes a very unique feature—basement storage!
What, a basement in a tiny house? No, not in the traditional sense. But this house features a crazy amount of storage space built-in underneath. You’ll be amazed at what you can pack away under there. Let’s check it out!
The exterior of the house features white siding and contrasting black trim for a look that is simple and sophisticated. You can see the characteristic large windows which many houses by Park Model Homes feature. But what you want to pay extra close attention to here is the two compartments underneath the windows.
The doors swing open wide to reveal the basement storage! But what is really brilliant about these storage compartments isn’t just how roomy they are, but how easy they are to access.
There are sliders that you can pull out to grab the contents of the basement storage compartments. This saves you the effort of having to reach inside yourself.
Indeed, it makes it possible to utilize the entire space. If not for these slide-outs, you would only be able to reach in so far, so part of storage space would go unused, which would be a waste. That is what differentiates this feature from a lot of the storage compartments which you will see on RVs. They may look similar when the doors are closed, but when they are open, you can see the Park Model Homes difference.
Having the storage spaces go clear through to the other side of the house also makes it possible to store long objects such as kayaks, surfboards, snowboards, skis, etc. That makes this tiny house the ideal choice for an outdoor enthusiast with long or bulky gear to store.
Several stairs lead up from the kitchen to the seating area, which is sectioned off by a minimalist railing which adds style to the interior without intruding on the flow of space.
This design is what allows for the huge storage spaces underneath the home. But it also does a great job helping to define the living area as a distinct space from the kitchen with its own purpose. As you can see, there is room for a huge projector screen to create a movie-theater experience in the home!
The wood accents and railing help to break up all the white, while the table in the seating area coordinates nicely with elements of the kitchen.
You might have assumed that all of the storage space underneath the seating area was what you saw outside. But there is additional interior storage underneath the seating area as well which you can access from the kitchen.
Like the exterior storage compartments, these hidden compartments in the kitchen features slide-out trays. This allows you to make use of deep storage space which you would otherwise not be able to reach.
For those with large kitchen appliances, this can help to save a lot of space on the countertops and in the cabinets, keeping your cooking space as uncluttered as possible.
The dining table is a kitchen island with storage inside. This photo also shows off the kitchen cabinets in white and gray, the large fridge and freezer, the microwave, the deep sink, and the oven and stovetop.
I really like the decision to make the lower cabinets gray and the upper cabinets white. Why? Because your eyes are drawn immediately to the lower cabinets. This makes the upper cabinets seem to disappear right into the white walls. The countertop also seems to meld into the walls. Meanwhile, the tile backsplash breaks up space with its pattern but likewise is white to match. The result is a clean, uncluttered appearance.
Curtains can be drawn across the windows to provide privacy when desired. As you can see, even with some of the curtains drawn, there is still an incredible amount of natural light filling the home.
There are both curtains and blinds in the living room.
When you are not watching your favorite shows and films, you can roll the projector screen up out of the way, hiding it from view. Doing so exposes another window to bring more light and views into the room. In this photo, you can also see the projector, which is located above the couch on the right.
Here’s one more shot of the living room and the kitchen. Looking back through the kitchen, you can glimpse the bathroom. Presumably, the bedroom is down that hall as well.
