The Canadian-based company, Minimaliste specializes in custom and high-end tiny houses like their latest build, the Acacia. This beautiful home was completely customized to meet the customer’s needs but we think it gives great inspiration for larger families that are either living tiny full-time, or that want a vacation home that can accommodate a big crowd. Get ready to take notes!
From the start, it’s easy to see that this is a lovely tiny house with rich wood siding on the exterior and darker panels that add contrast and texture. A large exterior closet was added over the trailer hitch and gives you a great place to store bulky items out of the way.
Inside, the home is bright and open with white shiplap walls, wood accents, and plenty of light coming through the multiple windows that line the walls. Deep ledges and shelves are found throughout the home giving places to store baskets, plants, and small items out of the way.
The living area has a long custom couch with shelves above it. The couch is extra comfy for during the day and at night it can be pulled out into a queen-sized bed making room for two people to sleep.
Across from the couch is a table that folds down making room for two to dine or it can be used as a large desk for work. When not needed, it simply folds flat against the wall freeing up space to move about.
The kitchen features white cabinets with a wood countertop and compact appliances including a stove, oven, and refrigerator. A deep stainless steel sink sits in front of the round kitchen window with a commercial faucet to make clean-up easier.
The Acacia has two separate bedrooms giving a plenty of room for a large party to travel or live comfortably. One bedroom is on the main level off of the living room. There’s room for a queen-sized bed and a ledge above the headboard gives a place to store personal items. A wide window is at the foot of the bed letting natural light fill the space.
The second bedroom is in the loft and is quite spacious! A king-sized bed fits nicely and you also h ave storage space along a ledge at the foot of the bed and in a cabinet. A wide window is at the head of the bed for light and ventilation and you also have a round window to add character.
Additional privacy can be gained by adjusting the pulley system attached to a partial wall that extends to the ceiling.
Back downstairs, the bathroom is off of the kitchen and is designed with space in mind. A super slim sink and cabinet are attached to one wall with a mirrored medicine cabinet above it. To the left is a stackable washing and drying machine.
Across the bathroom, you have a composting toilet with storage shelves above and shower stall next to it.
This tiny house is a great size for a family to make the big leap to living tiny. If you want to see more models from Minimaliste and get even more inspiration, check out their website at http://minimalistehouses.com/en/.
