Colorado-based builder, MitchCraft Tiny Homes, is known for its passion for sustainability and well-built tiny houses so we’re always excited to see them roll out new custom builds. The latest is one that they’re calling the Bookworm. It’s an 18 foot home featuring beautiful wood siding with a bright green metal roof and exterior storage.
The home has gorgeous details and craftsmanship everywhere you look including on this overhang that’s on the back of the trailer.
Inside, the home has a warm lived-in quality with tons of character and personal touches like the burlap-covered walls. Storage is something that’s always a priority in tiny houses and this owner made sure to take advantage of every surface including the back of the main door with hooks and racks on the wall for spices. Design elements like angled walls and metal
accents also add to the unique factor of the Bookworm.
A dining table is tucked on the side of the wall with custom bench seats with storage drawers below and a wood table that can be folded down when not needed.
You can’t have a tiny house named the Bookworm without having the perfect reading nook! A comfy corner was created for the owners to relax with their favorite book and to keep plenty of options nearby in the built-in bookshelves. Track lighting allows them to point the lights where needed without making the corner too bright or you can read by natural light provided by
the two windows in the room.
A wood-burning stove is tucked under the staircase and puts off enough heat to warm the whole home while looking adorable.
One end of the home is reserved for the kitchen which has a compact stainless steel refrigerator and tons of storage in closed cabinets and drawers or open shelving. Pots and pans are hung above the sink from a pot rack and mugs hang on hooks above the gas cooktop. This kitchen is organized impeccably so the owner was able to fit everything they need in small space.
A storage loft is above the kitchen giving a place for bulky and off-season items to be stored away.
Here you can see that the reading nook can also be used as a sleeping area by extending the bed. It’s now the perfect spot for guests to spend the night.
Upstairs is the main bedroom with room for a queen-sized bed and built-in storage along both sides of the loft under the long windows.
The bathroom is skinny but performs all the functions you’d need including an open shower that’s right in the middle of the room, no curtain needed!
A composting toilet is set into a custom wood bench and shelves are built into the walls above for towels and toiletries.
A bright custom sink bowl adds a nice pop of color and fits snugly into the corner of the bathroom. We also love the industrial copper faucets!
This cozy home is perfectly customized for its new owner which is exactly what MitchCraft hopes to do for all of their customers. To learn more about Mitchcraft homes, visit their website at http://mitchcrafttinyhomes.com/about/ and you can also follow them on social media:
