The tiny house I have to share with you today is really more of a shack/work-in-progress. But considering that you can purchase it along with 2 acres of amazing, wide open desert land in Bisbee, Arizona for just $4,200, I couldn’t resist sharing it with you.
The seller writes, “This has been my home for the past month and I have loved every second. There are incredible stars at night and beautiful city lights in the distance. Let this be you’re home or weekend get away!” He adds, ” I love this place. The fun and benefits it provides are endless. I’m in no rush to sell, but certainly willing and excited to pass the place on. But until then I know I will get a ton of fun and peace every time I come out to stay.”
As I said, it is more of a shack/temporary structure than anything that looks permanent. I’m not sure it is watertight, and obviously the interior is unfinished.
But there is a sink, and that seems to suggest that there might already be water and sewage out here? If so, that is a big deal, as getting utilities out to where you want to build a tiny house is arguably the most complicated (and expensive) part if you are putting it on your own land.
I know this because I have thought about doing it from time to time. I love the idea of purchasing some desolate, remote land like this at a bargain price and setting up there. But the thought of trying to get water, sewer and electric set up there is what stands in my way.
Even though I don’t think you would want to live in this shack over the long term, you could use it as a temporary abode while you work on building a more permanent, finished tiny house on this land or moving one there.
It appears that there is enough room to put a bed in there. Also, even though I think that there is open space between the roof and the interior, that would at least facilitate airflow, preventing the structure from overheating in its desert location. That might be more useful than closing it off to precipitation.
There is a separate little stall set up with a toilet in the middle. Again, I am not sure what sort of plumbing is in place.
The land looks incredible. The seller writes, “Bring your off-road toys and guns too! This plot is about 600 feet away from hundreds of acres of state land that you’ll have complete access to for your use and enjoyment.”
For just $4,200, personally, I think that this land and the amenities set up there are a steal. Aside from the fact that I don’t particularly want to live in Arizona, this is a deal which I would jump on in an instant.
