Love tiny houses, and want to find out what it is like to live in one? If you are traveling near Newport, TN, consider booking a stay at the Shiners Shack.
The Shiners Shack is located in the Smoky Mountains close to the Cherokee National Forest. While there are other tiny accommodations on the same property, each of them is well-secluded from the rest. You’ll not only have a tiny cabin to yourself, but you’ll feel like you have the whole forest to yourself!
There is a hot tub right outside the cabin, so no matter what time of year you visit, you can enjoy the outdoors while staying warm and comfortable.
As you can see, there is quite a view from the hot tub and the porch of the trees and the Smoky Mountains beyond!
A small awning offers some shade if you want to hang out on the porch.
Inside the tiny cabin, there is a seating area with a large sofa.
The ladder takes you up to the loft, which is actually a bit bigger than I would have expected when viewing the cabin from the outside. Here you can sleep in this roomy bed.
Like the other tiny accommodations on the property, this one includes a kitchen for longer stays.
Another small loft is located above the couch. It doesn’t look like it is being put to any specific use in the accommodation, but were you to live in this same model of tiny house, you can probably think of some applications for it (i.e. extra storage).
A full-size oven and four-burner cooktop are available so that you can prepare any recipes you like. To the right, a small table is pressed up against the wall with compact seating stored directly underneath.
You can see the smaller loft a bit better in this photo. I would guess that if you brought a sleeping bag, one person could probably spend the night up there.
In the bathroom, there is a flush toilet and a vanity with a round mirror above the sink (a trend I keep seeing particularly in tiny accommodations).
If you turn to the right, you can see the shower, which looks small, but still large enough that most people would fit in it with no problems.
There is an adorable rustic table made out of a stump situated between the two chairs on the porch. It looks that there is just enough space on it to set a couple of drinks.
An umbrella can be opened over the picnic table to provide some shade while you are eating.
There is an option to purchase firewood on the premises. Both a charcoal grill and a fire pit with grill are located outside by the picnic table.
This angle really shows off the elevation of the cabin on the hillside.
Views like this are the kind of magical experiences you can look forward to if you book a stay in this tiny house.
If you want to accept the invitation to “get farther away” at the Smoky Mountains Shiners Shack, you can read up on the amenities in detail and book a reservation at AirBnB. As of the time of this writing, it only costs $105 a night.
