Rustic Campers is a small firm which focuses on building tiny huts and cabins as well as customized road trip vans, caravans and so on. As the name implies, a lot of their designs are rustic in nature. That is certainly true for their beautiful “Burnt-Wood Cabin,”
Wondering about the name? The larch cladding used underneath the veranda was burnt before it was used in construction. This helps to emphasize the wood grain and provide a “charcoal” appearance to the structure.
Here you can see the heated outdoor shower. As you can see, this is not just any old outdoor shower—it is quite luxurious! It looks just as comfortable and private as any indoor shower.
The kitchen is very small, with only minimal counter space to work with. But it includes a big sink basin, clever storage, and some colorful tiles which bring some style and cheer to the space. Also notice the lovely minty green shade used for the walls.
Here you can get a better look at the tile backsplash as well as the hanging storage solution for the coffee cups.
On the other side of the room, the mint green paint gives way to wood walls, demarcating the bedroom space. Here there is a comfy couch as well as a bed. Clearly, this is not a loft. While that does mean that it takes up more of the main living space, it also allows for a higher ceiling above the bed.
To see how it all fits together, we can look back toward the kitchen from the bed. Despite the kitchen and bedroom being squeezed into one room, there is no feeling of constriction here. The light colors and the clutter-free environment feel very open and inviting. You now also can see the advantage of keeping the shower outside.
Here you can get a good look at the burnt wood-grain. It really brings out the beauty of the rustic textures. Also notice the flower pot and the legs for the bench, all made out of tree stumps. Interspersed with these elements are a few bright spots of color which stand out in a vibrant and unexpected way.
This furnace looks like it keeps the little house very warm and cozy!
This view from the porch is just breathtaking!
Here you can get a better look at the shape of the home, and you get a real feel for the size of the roomy porch.
You can see that there is a small raised walkway leading to a little shed. This adds to the storage space available without crowding in on the house itself.
Here is a better look at the shed:
It’s hard to say what is more beautiful—the house or the grounds. The two do a great job of complementing each other. The rustic appeal of the cabin is a perfect fit for its environment.
