Guemes Island in Washington State is home to 650 full-time residents but you can be a guest by renting this adorable and modern tiny house. Named the Makers Tiny House thanks to all of the curated items made by artists and craftsmen, this 144-square foot tiny house has everything you need for a vacation.
The house sits on 5.5 acres of woods and would be perfect for an outdoorsy couple looking for some peace and quiet. The exterior is painted a welcoming color and the large deck beckons you to come to take a load off.
Once inside, you’ll be surprised to see all that this tiny house has to offer! Plenty of comfy seating, an eating area, kitchen, two lofts, huge TV, and a bathroom – way more than you’d expect in such a small package. We also like that they kept the colors light and neutral so the area feels larger than it really is.
The kitchen has beautiful butcher block countertops and a large farmhouse sink, a mini-fridge, and even a two-burner stovetop and toaster oven.
This sink is huge and looks great next to the wood of the countertops! And we think it was pretty clever of them to mount the toaster oven above the counters to take advantage of the vertical space.
The small eating area is on the side of the kitchen and can also double as a working area. Floating shelves give extra space for storage and display.
The single sleeping loft is over the doorway and has a smaller mattress as well as a bookshelf and a window that opens.
The main sleeping loft has a queen-sized mattress and reading lights as well as three windows and track lighting.
What’s really cool about the loft is that it’s reached by a ladder that’s on a pulley system so it can be pulled out of the way when not in use!
The house has gorgeous wood floors and metal accents that give it an industrial edge which pairs nicely with the white walls and cabinets.
Even the kitchen light is on a pulley! We think these touches add so much to the character of this tiny house!
Above the kitchen is a huge TV mounted on the wall that can be seen from just about anywhere in the house.
The custom built-in sofas have hidden storage and you also have built-in bookshelves. The drawers in the bottom right of this photo are actually steps that pull out to give easy access to the ladder.
On the other side of the kitchen is a large bathroom with a toilet, sink, and shower stall. You also have a heated towel rack and cabinet storage.
We like the special touch of using subway tile around the sink for a classic look next to the white basin sink.
We think this tiny house makes a great getaway! You get everything you need inside plus a large porch and outdoor fire pit in the middle of tons of private woods!
