Every now and then we come across a tiny house that produces an audible *gasp* from our team. This next home by Olive Nest is one of those special ones with its beautiful craftsmanship and an attached greenhouse. The Elsa by Olive Nest has 323 square feet with lovely cedar siding on the exterior. A deck with a pergola over it connects the home to the separate trailer containing the fully functional greenhouse with wrap-around planters. This home is currently for sale for $81,000 which may be out of your price range, but it sure is pretty to look at!
Video house tour:
The Elsa was built by a local builder in Taylors, South Carolina and was featured on HGTV and DIY’s Tiny House, Big Living. It’s easy to see why it’s gotten so much attention with its eye-grabbing design both inside and out.
This home lets you live tiny without sacrificing your love for gardening and agriculture by attaching a trailer that expands your outdoor space to include the greenhouse. There’s also a place for a charming porch swing under the pergola between the main house and the greenhouse.
The exterior isn’t the only thing exceptional about this tiny house, step inside and see the gorgeous interior featuring beautiful woodwork, custom furniture, and original artwork. The best thing about it is that everything pictured here comes with the house – even the décor! With such an open floor plan, it’s easy to picture yourself entertaining guests surrounded by
beauty.
The walls inside are covered in white shiplap providing a blank canvas for the artwork to shine on while also making the home feel fresh and spacious.
A full-sized sofa is in the living room and can easily be transformed into a guest bed. Natural light fills the space thanks to the large windows that are found throughout the home.
Between the living room and kitchen, you have a slim table that can slide against the wall for bar-style seating or it can be swung out to give room for four guests to eat. We love the mix of metal and wood against the white shiplap!
The kitchen features white cabinets with a white countertop and deep stainless steel sink. A commercial faucet hangs over the sink with floating shelves on either side for open storage. You also have a full-sized oven and gas cooktop with a refrigerator on the opposite end of the room.
Across from the cabinets is the wide staircase leading to the master loft. Storage is built into each step in the form of cabinets, drawers, or cubbies giving you plenty of room to store personal items out of sight in style.
A spacious room is found at the top of the stairs with a tall ceiling and six windows lining the room for fresh air and natural light. Original artwork is hung from the ceiling to provide semi-privacy and a pop of color.
Back downstairs, the back of the home contains a spa-like bathroom and laundry area. The wooden vanity is built into a nook with shelves extending up the wall and a lighted mirror over the vessel sink.
A full-sized shower stall is also in the bathroom with more cubbies next to it for storing linens and toiletries. There is also a full-sized toilet with traditional plumbing.
A combo washing and drying machine is tucked into a closet with a bar for hanging clothes. The sliding barn door with frosted glass inserts divides this area from the kitchen and living spaces.
